Bluetooth Headsets with heart rate monitor [TEST]

Jabra is a company for a long time associating mainly with headset systems for professional use and telecommunications systems. However, the company has been expanding its offer for several years. Headphones dedicated to athletes. The Jabra Sport Pulse – the world’s first wireless headset with built-in heart rate monitor!

The design of the headphones is very simple – they are earbuds with a remote control cable. Fit to the ear provides two erasers – one intrinsic, the other stabilizing the handset inside the turban. In the box we find four sizes of each rubber band, a small clip, which allows you to shorten the cable if needed, a USB charging cable and a practical carrying case. The whole device is resistant to sweat, dust, water – we can run under the harshest conditions, and then the earphones simply wash under the tap. During the test we have done this several times and we have not found any problems with Jabra wetting.

The heart rate monitor was placed on the left earpiece, at the location near the pin. It works in optical technology – a special sensor examines the blood flow in the capillaries just below the skin and through the Bluetooth connection sends data to our smartphone. Measured during the test, the duration of the headset is about 4.5 hours on one battery charge (which takes about 1.5 hours). The maximum time given by the manufacturer (5 hours) is therefore credible.

Jabra Sport Pulse thanks to the aforementioned rubber bands in 4 sizes, offers great fit. None of the three testers had the slightest problem adjusting to the shape of their ear. Erasers are very soft, they do not cause any discomfort. Their advantage is also the material from which they were made – it is characterized by bacteriostatic properties. Headphones are very light (only weighs 16 grams), while they do not feel inside the ear at all. During training, regardless of the pace of the run (tested from long runs to fast track cycles), not once did the headset come out of ears. The only downside is that the cable only connects the headphones – while running in the heat while sweat is sticking to the back of the neck. Good clip length adjustment minimizes the problem, but does not eliminate it completely.

There are 4 buttons to control the headphones. Three of them are on the remote and they support music and connections. We can adjust the volume, receive calls, change songs, or activate voice dialing. The fourth button is placed on …
